In-Depth Info on Rin and the Nadrins

My introduction on Rin's profile was originally way longer with detailed info on his history and the nadrin culture and such, but I cut it way down so his introduction would just state the gist of his personality and appearance. I felt short and sweet would be preferred.

But since I have this handy "tent" thing now, I figure this would be the place where I could post all the info on Rin's past and his race so that anyone who wanted to learn more about him (and had a ridiculous amount of free time) could read up if they so desired.

I also might use this as a type of dictionary where I can list the random, alien words Rin sometimes uses with translations of what they mean.

Name: Rinnio(Rin) Cua’coh

Occupation: Exiled

Race: Nadrins (Alien)

Planet: Lunca

Age: Around 19 in earth years

Appearance: Dark, grayish blue skin. Light blue/white hair. Mouth is a light gray tint, (the color of his blood is black) and the areas of tough, armor-like skin on his stomach, arms and feet are a very dark, navy blue. He also has patches on his face. Right eye is white with a black pupil and the left one is black with a red iris; he has a scarlet cloth tied around his left eye. Teeth are pointy and white. Hair is short in the back and long bangs in the front; long thin tail that is similar to a scorpion. Two sets of dark blue, retractable and extendable antenna on his head.

He wears heavy baggy clothes consisting of a greenish, oversized robe tied with a belt, and a large, dark brown poncho he wears over top of that. He has no shoes and a tight black bodysuit underneath due to being cold blooded. There are pale blue lines on the suit running from the back of his neck down over his back and curve down to end at points on his chest and stomach. There are white dots scattered at various points on these lines that administer heat to vital parts of the body to keep him alive and moving. If he were to lose the suit and be in a noticeably cold environment, he’d start to slow down and eventually fall asleep and die. Most of the time he leaves his poncho off and lets his robe hang off his belt.

Race Info: Nadrins are mellow, intelligent and monkey like in appearance while still maintaining a rather humanoid form, (they have hair, ears, a mouth, etc). Their skin is normally a very pale, white color, but Rin’s is dark blue due to his lack of exposure to their sun. They have sections of very thick, bone hard skin around their forearms, calves and scattered on their faces normally. The pattern tends to differ per Nadrin like a type of fingerprint.

Around the back of their ankles and back of their lower arms are small rows of spikes that are capable of supporting their weight when climbing. Lunca has numerous amounts of extremely steep and jagged cliffs; climbing these makes a person vulnerable to several types of predators waiting to pluck them from the rocks. Using the spikes, Nadrins are able to climb the steep rocks with their back to the cliff (Like a spider climbing up a wall backwards), enabling them to look out for enemies. Their long, thin tails have large hooks that help them gain a bit of extra support when climbing.

They have two sets of antenna positioned at the top of their heads. The inner pair is an extra set of eyes; these eyes are capable of seeing small pigments of colors and detecting heat within objects. The outer pair are longer and extremely flexible; they have sensitive nerves on the tips for feeling surfaces. Nadrins will often use them to touch each others’ faces as a sign of affection.

If an enemy approaches them, Nadrins are able to shoot out a nasty slime similar in scent to that of a skunk from an opening in their tongues. It is slightly poisonous and burns on contact. This ability is retractable though, so they can avoid spitting in each other’s faces. They have extremely bad breath as a result of this.

They typically live in elaborate tunnels carved into the sides of cliffs. The upper class lives towards the top while lesser classes live in the lower levels. The colonies are small and widespread in order to prevent a massive attack from predators.

They have a goddess named Bawk-Tee. She’s known as the hen of life that laid the first egg that became Lunca. Due to this, Rin will normally say chicken related curses. Eggs are held in very high regard in society and to a nadrin, watching someone cook and eat eggs is similar to seeing them take a bite out of a baby. Rin gets super offended when people bring up eggs as food.

Dairy is a lethal poison to Nadrins and the slightest mention of milk makes Rin nauseous.

Nadrins mainly eat insects. Other edible species are scarce however so many Nadrins go for months or even years without eating anything. They are fine as long as they have sunlight to absorb heat and energy from.

Nadrin taste buds are almost nonexistent, but Rin still enjoys very sweet foods such as marshmallows and skittles.

Awkward Part! You've been warned.

They reproduce by laying eggs. The females naturally produce the eggs within a pouch on the ends of their tails. Female tails tend to be shorter and thicker than male tails because of this and a female with a very thick tail is considered to be extremely attractive. (So if Rin calls your character fat, that's normally meant as a compliment)

Males have pouches lacated in their lower abdemon where they carry the eggs laid by the female. They carry them for around two to three months for the eggs to mature. The skin in their pouch is thinner with a large cluster of blood cells centered on it in order to bring more heat to the eggs, (that’s how they grow).

After that period of time, the males carrying eggs travel to the Life Bringer, a huge ass tree that covers a large portion of the planet. They find a private spot near it and hibernate for a while. This greatly lowers their body temperature, which causes the babies to hatch and leave the pouch in order to find better sources of warmth. Large fruits grow on the tree that hold in heat very well. The babies burrow into the fruit to maintain their body temperature and eat it for food. There is a very low chance however that any of the babies will survive, and their population numbers remain very low as a result.

Nadrins do not know the concept of love. They simply reproduce to keep their species alive; no emotion is usually involved. They might enjoy certain ones more or find certain ones more attractive, but they do not get involved in relationships.

Okay, back to Rin:

Personality: Rin lived most of his life in luxury before his exile so as a result he acts a bit like a brat. He was constantly told of his superiority and power in his youth and he has a big ego as a result. He loves to boast about himself and constantly insults those he believes to be lower than him(Which is pretty much anybody). He has a particular dislike of humans due to the many physical similarities they share. He will often refer to them as monkeys or some sort of similar insult even though he resembles monkeys more than they do.

He’s also very bitter due to a combination of his dooms eye and exile. His time alone has caused him to become completely immature and he likes to spend his time making others miserable as well. Rarely will he utter a sentence that doesn’t contain some sort of alien curse or bitter remark.

While he would never admit it, Rin craves companionship from others and his random chats with humans, even with his great dislike for them, are probably a sign of his reaching out for friends. He loves to gossip and pry into personal issues people have although his advice is hardly ever helpful due to his lack of knowledge on other cultures.
