SIMPLE RULES!!!!!!
Leveling Up in Maroon:

Exp is gained by Quests, Events, and Role Playing

Quests and Events have their own set exp.

When you Role Play in certain areas your "RP Exp" increases

For every level your on you have a certain amount of Exp to gain to grow to the Next Level.
For Example, if your Level 1, you'll look up 'Level 1' on the EXP Chart and put in that number in the "Exp' on your character sheet.

For the Exp Chart Go HERE!

-If you grow a level your Exp count stays what it was. This way ur post count can accumulate
-To Check your level just add your RP Exp and your 'Exp' (from quests and events and such) in your head.
-If you have extra Exp after you grow a Level, then you add that to your exp count for the next level

Quests and Events:

Quests will be you greatest source of Gold and Exp. There are many quests out there so you will have to learn the basics of quests.

Types of Quests:

Type 1 quests: Quests that are in “Quest Logs"
>They are your most basic type of quests
>You find them in "Quest Logs": sections in Different Roleplay Areas.
>They all have a Redo Factor. The Redo factor is a number in thetop right hand corner of quests. [0]=Infinite Redo’s
- No number= No Redo’s

>Redo Factors tell you how many times you can redo a quest.

Type 3 quests: Roleplay Quests.
-This is where you role play about yourself coming to a problem. Once you fix that problem you Roleplay about getting a small reward. Example: MM walks to the store and notices a beggar stealing radishes. MM stops the beggar and gives the radishes back to the owner. The owner gives MM some radishes as his reward. MM gives the radishes to the beggar and the beggar trades MM a fish. MM got a fish! And 5 exp for helping out! Note: These quests are free-lanced. Refer to other quests to reference what your reward should be.

Type 4 quests: Events
-Everyone can join events even if the location of the event is not in your location.
-Any quests you are in the middle of will be ‘paused’
--You cannot work on that quest till the Event is over.
-You cannot start a new quest.
-You can quit events, but won’t get any of the reward.

Want to help out and create a quest?
-PM an admin your quest using this layout:
Code:
[quote]Quest:
[b][u]Reward:[/b][/i]
Level Requirement:
Redo Count:
Quest Description:

How to do a Quest:
-Go to the main area of the location: Like Right here!
- Go to these areas that look like the above with the "Info Centers" and "Quest Logs"
-Create a “New Topic”
-Role Play about accomplishing the quest!
Note:"We admins would love to see quests that are longer than 1 post, and longer than 1 paragraph for each post. (however it isn't required ;D)

Party Quests!!!
-Start your Quest
-Have a friend post after you
-People are allowed to ‘butt in’ solo and Party quests
--Starter of quest can kick ‘butt ins’ out of their quest.
-Role Play back and forth about accomplishing the quest together

Finishing your Quest!
-Go back to the info about your Quest
-Reply “Completed” or something along those lines

Rewards!!!
-Once you have finished your Quest you can add the reward mentioned to your “Character Stats’*

-In Events everyone gets the reward mentioned. There is no splitting the reward. =D

*To get to your Character Stats look at the top of Maroon.
-Click "Profile"
-On Your "Profile Tabs" Find a thing that says "Character Stats"
-Fill in the blanks =)
-You should be level 1 right now.

Weapons/Equipment/Items

When you might need a new weapon:
-If you Roleplay(RP) about losing one

-If you RP about breaking one

-If you sell it

-If you feel like a new one

*You are stuck with your ‘starting weapons’ that you described in your ‘Character Profile’

Equipping a Weapon
-Go to your “Character Stats”

-Click the “Weapons List” Text box

-Add your list of weapons.

-Type an “E” Next to it to say you equipped it.

Quote :
-Ex. Skull Bone- E

Skull Sword

Skull Blade

Limits to weapons :
-You have to be the same Level to use weapons you buy or get as a reward. (starter weapons are an exception)

-There is no limit, but be as realistic as possible. Adds more Drama and Excitement! ;D

-Ex. Ray Shirim is a swordsman. If he tries to use lances he might have a little trouble getting used to them.
So I would Role Play(RP) about Ray learning how to use a lance.

>Weapons can have different abilities sometimes.
-Check the shops or the “Master Weapon/Items/Equipment List” for a list of what weapons have what abilities.*
*Not every weapon is listed.

>Make sure you update your Character stats when:
-You get new weapons

-You lose weapons

SHOPPING!

[size=18]1.) How do you get gold?
-By Quests, Events, ect.
-For every 100 posts you get 100gold
-Keep track of your gold in your "Character Stats"
--Don't lie about how much gold you have. You will get 2 warnings and then a 3rd strike will lead to ban.

Now, once you have a bunch of money, what or where do you spend it on?
-Weapons/Items/Equipment/Ect.
--Since you have entered Maroon, you cannot change your starter weapons.
---Unless you RP about getting new ones or buy new ones.
-To buy an item: Go to a shop's Topic and reply saying "I want to buy an item"
--Add it to your "Character Stats"

Got an item you wanna sell?
-You can reply to a shop and sell an item.
--You get half the price it was originally
-You can sell or give it to a friend
-Or you can create your own shop.

ADVANCED RULES!!!!!!(These rules were derived from Cashier Himself)

Leveling Up in Maroon:
Exp is gained by quests, posts, and events.

Quests and Events have their own set exp but for posts

1 Post= 1 Exp

So Post a lot, and When your Rping like mad, it shouldn't be too hard.

For every lvl your on you have a certain amount of Exp to Gain to grow to the Next Lvl.
For Example, if your Lvl 1, you'll look up 'Lvl 1' on the EXP Chart and put in that number in the "Exp' on your character sheet.[/size]

For the Exp Chart Go HERE!

-If you grow a Lvl your Exp count stays what it was. This way ur post count can accumulate
-If you have extra Exp after you grow a Level, then you add that to your exp count for the next lvl

Quests and Events:
Cashier: Quests will be you greatest source of Gold and Exp. There's many quests out there, and that's why I divided it up in three types.

Type 1:
Quote:
Type 1 quests are the type that are posted on Quest Logs around Maroon. It's kind of obvious when it's a quest log cause it's basically one big list of quests. All you have to do is go and complete the quest, come back and tell the owner of the quest log that you completed the quest. You get an award, the person who gave you the quest has their job done, and everyone's happy.

Quote:
Type 2 quests are quests you create yourself. Now when it comes to creating quests yourself it normally follows along whatever storyline your RP'ing.

Ex: If MM was walking a long searching for his long lost brother, and all of a sudden some lady asked him to kill some monster that was attacking the town, that would count as a quest.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember to keep whatever the reward is fair. If anything just take exp for yourself. Type 2 quests are pretty free-lanced so don't abuse that freedom. If you wanna be fair, the best thing you can do is look at actual quests.

Type 3:
Quote:
Type 3 quests are the MOST REWARDING of all other quests. In fact these quests have a completely different name to them. These quests are called: EVENTS. Events are large and usually will end up being a combination of 1 or more quests. In events most people have to end up facing a boss, which can be quite challenging.

Cashier: Now, one can also create a quest to add to the Quest logs. All you have to do is PM and Admin or a Moderator of that Quest log and tell them your ideas. It would be greatly appreciated if you put your quest idea in the same format as the others.

So how do you sign up for a quest???
>Just reply to the quest topic and say that your want to do that quest

How do you accomplish your quest?
>Do whatever the quest tells you to (normally you'll have to make a topic that tells ur adventure of ur quest)

How do you say that you completed your quest?
>Just reply to the quest topic and say that you completed it

So what if you want to do a quest with a friend?
Quote:
There's two ways to join up with a friend. 1 way is to sign up with them on the quest log and when you complete the quest you split the reward. Another way is if you team up during the quest (like if some random person jumps in and helps you out) If this happens the person who is actually doing the quest can either shove them away or let them help. In the end though the person who actually accepted the quest gets to split the prize, so it's up to them if the person who jumped in gets any or not.

Depending on the prize, the type of quest, and how many people did the quest affets the reward itself.
Quote:

The prize: Besides the prizes there should be a (#). That number signifies how many quantities of that item you get.

Ex: iron sword (4) 500 exp (3)

Type 1+2 Quests: These are quests that have a set value and are normally done alone. The reward is given as told.

Type 3 quests: Events are AWESOME!! The prizes are given to EVERY Member who participates in them, even if the reward says:
500 exp(2) (if it says a number, you just get that much times the quantity. So in this case you'd get 1000 exp instead of 500. ;D)

Solo Quests: You get the rewards and you don't have to distribute them amongst others

Party Quests: With more than 1 person in ur team you have to split your rewards evenly amongst everyone who participated. Work it out amongst yourselves.

Other members can butt in on anyone's quests. The people who interfere with the quest can do anything they want. But now they have made themselves a part of the quest, whether hero or villain. So now the person who took up the quest has to react to the interference.

This makes things all a little more interesting... cause it's possible to have 2-22 people butt in on one quest.

To prevent it from getting out of hand however, the person who's doing the quest can tell people to 'Butt out" If they do this, that person can just do the quest w/o interference.

Do all RP in the main forum for an area.

Go there to Rp about your quests, and your adventures.

For EVERY quest however, you have to make a new topic

About Partying! There's no place to actually set up a party, and there's no automatic way to tell who's on your team.

The way you meet up is Via Rp, and as meantioned above: You split your rewards/finds the way you want.

So keep track who you party with and who gets what ;D

Note: During EVENTS you have to be at the same location.

You cannot start new quests if you've participated in the event.

If your already in a quest u CAN pause the quest to participate in the event, but u can't 'continue' till the event is over.

You can quit the event at any time. But once you quit you cannot join again. And you do not receive any reward for quitting.
Redo factors on quests: If you see a number on the top right hand side, you may redo that quest that many number of times.

Example See the bolded number on the top right hand side? That means you can do that quest 3 times.

If there is NO number on the top right hand side, then you can only do that quest 1 time.

If there is the number [0], that means you can do the quest as many times as you want.

Weapons/Equipment/Items

Cashier: I notice you have some sort of weapon. Good you'll need it to defend yourself. Let me tell you, walking around in Maroon is not like walking in a park. Now, what were to happen if you lose your weapon, or maybe find a new one?

I'll explain with delight
Quote :
When you lose a weapon (during an RP or if somehow you just lose it) you can buy a new one once you get to a shop or if you find a new one. Otherwise you get to fight with your wits and fists. Good luck when it comes to that >.>
In very rare cases and on quests you may come across a treasure chest. What's inside is yours.
If you aquire a weapon then go to "Profile" up at the top. Then go to your 'character profile' in the 'profile tabs'. Look at ur "Weapon list' and type in what you own. Then What you Equip, put a "-E" besides it

Ex. Death Skull-E <see the '-E'? that means Equipped.
Sword
Shield
Staff

Remember, depending on who you are your only able to use the weapons you've been trained. If your a magic user you might want to use more magic related things. And if your a warrior, you can use heavier weapons with ease. And so on. (Note: It's a Free-lanced Rp, so if you want to go against that suggestion, go for it. But Realism adds Drama/Excitemnt ;D)

Also remember to look at the different abilities that weapons have, you can use those for your advantage. And if you sell/throw away/ give away a weapon make sure you update your Weapons list, saying you don't have it anymore.

Cashier: Items are pretty much the same way.
Quote :
If You have or use an item, make sure you keep your "Items List" updated. Now when it comes to Items, you use them when your feeling weak, and then all of a SUDDEN!! your healed!! (that's only an example) There's various items so, use them for your advantage ;D

One last thing:
Quote :
There are 'LVL REQUIREMENTS" ON all items, weapons, armor, supplies, ect.
If you are not that lvl, you cannot use the weapons that you buy. Until u reach that lvl

Cashier: Pretty simple, huh kid?

SHOPPING!

Cashier: Like in your world people make a living by buying and selling goods to keep the economy running. Same in Maroon. There's tons of items and weapons in Maroon that you can update your character with, and it will make all the differenece. Here in Maroon the currency (or the type of money we use) is Gold.

Now first of all:

1.) How do you get gold?

Quote :
Every quest has a Gold reward. Do several quests to earn Gold. Also, if you're part of an event you will recieve large sums of Gold. One other way to earn gold is to stay active. For every 100 posts you will get 100 Gold. Keep track of your Gold in the Character Stats of your profile!! If you lie about how much Gold you have (for instance say you have 100 Gold when you really have Zero, then you will be warned twice about it, then on 3rd strike banned for a period of time.

Now, once you have a bunch of money, what or where do you spend it on?

Quote :
In the beginning you created a profile that stated what weapons you brought with you to Maroon. Now that you have entered the world, you can not change weapons. Instead you have to buy them. Depending on where you are in Maroon, there are different shops that contain different items. When you get there reply to the Store's topic and tell the Shop keeper what you want. Make sure you keep track of your items in the Character Stats in your Profile. Weapons that you buy can have magical properties, or they're just good for a change.

Got an item you wanna sell?
Quote :
If you have an item you bought and you want to dispose of it you can do a few things. You can either give it to a friend, throw it away, or sell it. When you sell it just go to any store and say you want to sell the weapon/item. Split the price you got it in half, and that's how much you get back. Ain't the world unfair kid?

Wanna set up your own shop?
Quote :
Once you Finish your "Begginer's Mission" Then you can create a shop (rules are in a special topic)
